Welcome

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important steps in beginning therapy.

Three Shores Therapy brings together three experienced, accredited psychotherapists who practise independently while sharing the same values of compassion, integrity and clinical excellence.

Together, we bring decades of clinical and social care experience, with extensive backgrounds across HSE-funded, statutory, educational, disability, community and family support services. Our work has involved supporting children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing a wide range of emotional, relational and often complex life circumstances. This breadth of experience has given us a strong understanding not only of the individual, but also of the family, educational and wider systems that can influence wellbeing.

Alongside our professional experience, we bring specialist postgraduate training and Master's-level expertise in adolescent psychotherapy. Our approach is relational, developmentally informed and grounded in many years of frontline clinical practice. We believe every person deserves to feel safe, understood and accepted, and that meaningful change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your teenager, your family or a specific life challenge, we're here to help you find the therapist who feels like the right fit.

Why Three Shores?

Like different shores connected by the same sea, each therapist brings her own experience, specialist knowledge and therapeutic style.

Rather than searching multiple websites, Three Shores allows you to explore three experienced therapists in one place and choose the person who best meets your needs.

What makes Three Shores distinctive is that each of us has completed specialist Master's level training in Adolescent Psychotherapy. This advanced training has given us a deep understanding of human development, relationships and emotional wellbeing across the lifespan. Although we work with both adolescents and adults, our approach is shaped by an appreciation of how early experiences, attachment and developmental stages influence the challenges people face throughout life.

Our training is grounded in relational and Gestalt principles, recognising that healing happens through authentic connection, increased awareness and meaningful relationships. Alongside traditional talking therapy, we draw on creative and experiential approaches where appropriate, helping clients explore thoughts and emotions in ways that feel accessible, engaging and deeply personal.

Although we each work independently, we meet regularly for professional consultation, shared learning and clinical reflection so our clients continue to benefit from thoughtful, ethical and evidence-informed care.

With therapists located in Galway, Meath and Wicklow, we combine local, face-to-face support with the flexibility of online therapy, making professional psychotherapy accessible wherever you are in Ireland.

Frequently Asked Questions

Supporting clients across Wicklow, Meath, Galway and online throughout Ireland.

How do I know if therapy could help me, my teenager or my family?

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from counselling or psychotherapy. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges or simply feel something isn't quite right, therapy can offer a safe, supportive space. If you're unsure, we're always happy to discuss whether therapy is the right fit.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Each therapist has their own specialist interests and experience. Read our individual profiles or contact us and we'll help match you with the therapist best suited to your needs.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session is a chance to get to know one another, explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss your hopes and goals. For clients under 18, part of the first appointment usually includes a parent or guardian.

I'm feeling nervous about coming to therapy. Is that normal?

Absolutely. Many people feel anxious before their first session. We'll meet you with warmth, compassion and without judgement.

What can I come to therapy for?

We support adolescents, young adults, adults, parents and families with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, relationships, parenting, trauma, neurodiversity, women's reproductive mental health, emotional regulation, life transitions and more.

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is central to psychotherapy. The only exceptions relate to significant safety concerns or legal and ethical obligations, which will always be explained clearly.

How does confidentiality work for teenagers?

Teenagers need privacy for therapy to be effective. Parents remain involved appropriately, while session content stays confidential unless there are concerns about safety.

Will parents be involved?

Yes. Parent consultations and review sessions are often part of the therapeutic process while respecting the young person's confidentiality.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people benefit from short-term therapy while others choose longer-term psychotherapy. We'll review your progress together regularly.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. Alongside in-person sessions in Wicklow, Meath/Cavan and Galway, we provide secure online therapy across Ireland.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can contact us directly, although referrals from GPs and other professionals are always welcome.

How do I book an appointment?

Contact us by phone, email or via our website. We're happy to answer any questions before you book.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, will be charged at the full session fee unless the appointment slot can be filled.
